I’ve enjoyed a rather interesting week. Some of the events will require their own blog posts (um, actually a series, sorry). But, overall, it was a good, scary, and exciting holiday season.

Thursday evening, went to the in-laws. A little dinner, some presents, and lots of yelling (Fluffy’s grandmother was there and hard of hearing).

Drove out in the snow on Friday afternoon to my mom’s for reconnecting, critiques, and gift exchanges. My brother gave me some rather wonderfully brutal critiques (I like honesty) ranging from the size of my blog posts and reviews to what I did wrong with the story I gave mom. Not sure how much I will do about some of them, but I’m thinking about what I could change.

Evening with friends, including a bit of Grand Theft Auto 4 and Sherlock Holmes (I liked it).

Saturday evening with dad, including a few hours of lectures/discussions about financies, health, children, and writing. Mostly about the first three and less about the fourth. Gave me some ideas of where to go forward, but a lot of work for me in the next year.

Got home to other things. My relaxing day turned into a “let’s drive around Iowa” day. Ended up seeing Sherlock Holmes a second time with Fluffy, still liked it.

Like most holidays, haven’t done much writing. I want to, just haven’t gotten there. I’d like to say this week I will, but we have frantic cleaning before friends show up for a week. And Fluffy is test-driving that new steam cleaner we got.
