I got my schedule for this year's ICON 48 in Cedar Rapids, IA, USA. The convention runs from Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 16. This is my “home” convention as it were (it's less than two kilometers from my house) and it is a relatively focus, busy day on Saturday for me with plenty of time through the rest of the days:

• Saturday:
  • 09:00 (9:00 AM) - Writing Space Epics
  • 13:00 (1:00 PM) - Author Reading - Dylan Moonfire & Bob J. Koester
  • 15:00 (3:00 PM) - Character Development for Aspiring Authors
  • 17:00 (5:00 PM) - Writing Collaboratively

Most of these are topics I talk a lot about in general, so I feel pretty good about not making a “complete” fool of myself (unlike that Women in Sci-Fi and Fantasy panel many years ago). Though, I really need to finish getting my sci-fi website up and running before then… and maybe some business cards.

This year, I'm skipping the Author Meet and Greet but hopefully won't be skipping the Patrons Brunch the next day. Also, I'm going to see about running the one-on-four writer's workshop that got me going so many years ago when Mickey was running it.

In addition to all that, I'll have a table in the dealer's room for Typewriter Press so there will be books to sell and plenty of chances to wander by and say hi. I love talking to folks.
