I hate the savings
Because it isn't. I'm looking out onto a city with light burning from almost every building, wondering where we get our savings from? I can a few snooze alarms going off more than usual and I can see this building's lights reflecting off the Cedar River.
I don't like Daylight Savings Time. Today is a day that will have a spike in heart attacks because people aren't sleeping enough, it is dark again after a few weeks of bright mornings so it makes it harder to get up, and basically everything have to change to get used to the "new" time.
I'll be honest. When Congress changed DST a few years ago, I was sad. It was one of those bills where no one seemed to care that much; I wrote to my dear representatives in favor of repealing it, but I honestly don't think they even read it. Or they didn't care that much, because they would save money! Using a report from the 70's.
I don't like DST. Hell, I don't like time zones in general. Life would be so much more consistent, in this online world stretching across the entire planet, if we just used a consistent time and adjusted locally. But, that requires people to put much less obsession on going to work at 08:00 and coming home at 17:00.
I say this, as I yawn and stagger to work.
Down with the DST'ism.
