Hacked
One drawback of running your own software is that you have to worry about being hacked. Okay, even if you are on a different platform, you'll get hacked eventually there to.
This weekend, I found out that my forum software was hacked. I don't feel violated though, mainly because I know it was a program that did it, not a human. Somehow, it seems less personal to know that a program broke into my website, inserted a bunch of crap, and I didn't know about it.
I took down the forums that were affected and started changing passwords. It's going to take a long time for that, mainly because I have "good and unique" passwords for everything. This is also why I think it was the forum software since the block only showed up on the forums and not my other sites.
It also means that I'm going to be switching forum software.
